Ambler residents are welcome to discounted shade trees! Maximize your home's efficiency and minimize the heat island effect with a strategically-placed shade tree. A team of volunteers can even plant the tree for you. Orders are available twice a year. Send us an email to find out when you can order your tree!
Why plant a tree?
Trees are wonderful (and beautiful!) air purifiers. They also help infiltrate storm water, provide habitat for wildlife, reduce neighborhood speeding and combat the heat island affect of the hotter months in developed areas such as Ambler. Strategically placed trees in your front and / or backyard can help lower your utility bill. Consider planting a shade tree in your front and sharing the benefits with those walking down the sidewalk!
How to get a tree?
Trees are available twice a year, in Spring and Fall. Two months prior to tree planting a list of available trees will be posted to pick from at discounted rates for Ambler Residents.
Choose a tree (or two or three) from the tree list
Download and complete the “Make Ambler a Shade Better Request Form”
Return the form with a check or Venmo payment by the posted due date.
When handing in your order form make your check or money order out to “Ambler Borough”. Include in the Memo section “Shade Tree” or pay via Venmo @EACTreasurer_Wes. Return your check or money order, with your form, to Ambler Borough Hall at 131 Rosemary Ave, Ambler, PA 19002

free professional advice is available for tree selection and location planning
trees must be planted within 10 feet of the sidewalk, street, driveway, stream bank or parking lot.
$60 for your first tree, $100 for any additional tree ($200 value!)

you will need to dig a hole for your tree
OR volunteers will do so for you
call 811-dig 2 weeks before planting day
please water newly planted tree with 10-15 gallons of water per week in the Spring and Summer time when there is little to no rain and for two years.
