February 21, 2024 7pm



  1. Welcome to members and guests (7:00pm)

  2. Attendance and Approval of Minutes Present: Nancy Roecker Coates, Wes Pipitone, Will Nassau, Matt Walker, Kirsten Puskar, Mark Settman absent: Owen Baim

  3. Committee Reports


  1. Park Signage (Nancy Roecker-Coates and Hannah Lloyd)

  1. Update - Park signs are expected to arrive any day. 

     B. Policy Discussion (Chair: Matt): 

  1. Plan to communicate policy priorities to Borough Council through  a letter. 

     C. Treasurer’s Report (Wes Piptone) 

  1. No updates

     D.Keep Ambler Beautiful (Chair: Nancy Roecker Coates)

                  1.  Cell phone recycling - ongoing many new

     E. Shade Tree Committee (Mark Setman/Kirsten Puskar)

  1. Spring bare root tree ordering status.

    1. Trees ordered. 

    2. 7 were selected as locations in Knight Park.

    3. Will engage local volunteers to come plant

  2. Communications through Hometown News - Three articles submitted for publication. 

  1. One is a request for volunteers (and Tree Tenders) for the April 20th tree plantings in Knight Park. 

  2. No Mow May informational article

  3. Benefits of trees article and information about fall tree sales for residents.

  1. Fall tree planting plans are dependent on PHS tree ordering dates and species offered.

     F. Climate Action Committee 

  (Chair: Wes Pipitone, Members: Matt Walker) 

  1. CCA for PA 

    1. EAC to work on methods on bringing more awareness and grassroot involvement in CCA for PA adoption. 

  2. CFI (Community Fueling Infrastructure) grant available. We would need to apply by May. Municipality pays nothing, gets paid to rent. 

  3. Solar Grant

     G. Winter Salt Watch (Owen Baim absent)

     H. Ambler Borough Park - Chair: Kirsten 

  1. RedTail Restoration activity/contract approved by borough council. Kirsten will communicate with Red Tail.

     I.  Borough Council Update- Borough council did not move forward with a memo of understanding with Joule. They will revisit this in the future.

    J. Whitpain EAC- Mark and Kirsten will collaborate with neighboring EACs to plant native plants at Wissahickon HS

     K. EAC Vacancy- Nancy will be stepping down from the EAC at the end of March. Kirsten offered to take over the role of secretary.

    • Saturday, March 9th from 10 to noon at the Upper Dublin Library on Virginia Drive in Fort Washington. Table or present?
